Cavs take two at Copeland

The Western Baseball team finally got to play at Copeland Park and beat Rochester Community and Technical College 4-1 and 12-8 to earn the sweep. In the first game the Cavs used a great pitching performance from Brad Gilberts. Gilbert pitched all 7 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 2 and walking 1. Offensively the Cavs pushed 4 runs across in the 6th to get the win. Offensively the Cavs were led by Ben Levendoski, who was 1-3 with a RBI and run scored, and Ricky Bates, who was 1-2 with a 3 run homerun.

In the second game the Cavs were able to take advantage of walks and errors to get the win. Shane Peterson pitched 4 innings giving up 5 runs on 6 hits while striking out 1 and walking 6. Ryan Seidel pitched the final 3 innings giving up 3 runs (0 earned) on 1 hit while striking out 4 and walking 3. Offensively the Cavs were led by Nick Schultz, who was 1-3 with 3 RBI, Adam Bozinski, who was 1-3 with 2 RBI, and Shane Peterson, who was 2-3. With the wins the Cavs improve to 10-7 on the season.

NOTES: The Cavs will take on MATC-Milwaukee at Copeland Park on Wednesday. First pitched is scheduled for 2:00 PM
